I know he's been brutal at times this year, and most of us have bashed him more than a few times, but Eric Gagne is a classy guy. He's been nominated for the Roberto Clemente which is given annually to a player selected for his character and charitable contributions to his community. Only one Brewer has ever won that and it was Cecil Cooper in 1983.
Well about a month ago he and Jeff Suppan each donated $20,000 to help renovations of a little league field in Milwaukee, and now tonight, he's purchased 5000 tickets for over $200,000 and gave them away online. I know some of you will say, well, he makes over $10 million, what's that money matter. Well, it does matter, as he doesn't have to do that type of stuff. Especially when he's going to be here one year, and one year only unless he signs for peanuts next year.
So, my hat is off to Eric Gagne for being a great contributor to Milwaukee.
